The Goods
Good Wheel Ceramics makes functional pottery that is not only pleasing to the eye, but feels good to hold and use.
Products are made in our in-home studio, and we strive to reclaim and reuse every bit of water and clay that we can. We use a variety of different glazes, commercial and personal recipes, in addition to letting the natural beauty of the raw clay show.
As a small-batch artist, pieces are thrown, glazed and fired without molds or forms, with the utmost of care. As a result, each piece is hand-made and unique and something we can both be proud of.
Pottery is a time consuming craft. Each piece has to be stored and dried slowly to avoid cracking, fired 2-3 times in the kiln, and many steps in between before it is ready for its new home. We restock our virtual shelves when we have enough pieces to do so—every 6-8 weeks.
